Bears

This is a watercolor painting.  It is 16x20 and was done because I like bears.  Some days I do my painting just for fun.  A lot of time I paint to do random acts of kindness.  These paintings are usually for someone who has lost someone or for some other reason.  All in all I need some times to do things for fun and or there beauty.

Young Native American Dance

This young woman was dancing at one of our local Pow-Wow's. She was so intense and into the dance that it was enjoyable to see her enthusiasm. I had started working on this about a year ago and then for some reason abandon it. I enjoyed coming back and finishing it.

I also wanted to note today that it never ceases to amaze me at the audience that this blog a tracks. This week I Had visitors from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Latvia, Slovenia, Australia, Spain, Pakistan, and Singapore. In addition to this week for the month the Countries of Russia, India, Netherlands, Canada and Egypt were also people who stopped by. I hope all countries enjoy this work. I always welcome visitors and hope that you will feel free to leave comments or join other followers of my blog.

Again thank you all for stopping by.
Sincerely,
Elaine J. Hoogeboom
This little dancer is a very determined young lady.  I knew her father from Discovery Alternative High School.   Her father recently passed away and I recognized her at the funeral.  Both her and her father loved to dance.  I hope she will continue her dancing as I feel it will bring her closer to the memory of her father.  May God bless her and keep her close.

Death

These are two water color pencil paintings done for two people who lost a love one.  The little boy in the top picture lost his life when playing on the play ground and another boy stabbed him.  This picture was done for his great grandmother who is a friend of mine.

The second picture is of the little boy Conner and his brother Cameron.  The picture was given to Cameron as he was with his brother when he was killed.  My heart goes out to the family and particularly Cameron who will always be in my prayers.

Legacy Prize Time

After months of deliberation I have decided to once again enter the Legacy Prize Competition.  I really struggled with this decision because  this type of competition has messed with my mind and spirit in the past.  I am trying to learn how to loose with grace.  I will post a picture later.

American Bob Cat

This North American Bobcat Picture is a watercolor painting done on Canvas.  It has been donated to the Gold Star Family get together That will take place in Hell, Michigan.  It is Call the Hell and back party.  Tammy Prentler who's son Died in Afghanistan in 2010 described the event as," The patriot guard riders & military families United put on an event for the families of the fallen down in Hell, Michigan. Last year was my first event and it was fun. There is a gentleman who dresses up as the devil & his family gets involved dressing up as well. At the end of the day the "devil" & our preacher arm wrestle to see who prevails that day."  I am happy to donate this painting for this cause.
