Mary Free Bed art show. My hyperrealism paintings
Hydrangea
American Indian
These are 16" by 20" watercolor pencil paintings that were entered into the Mary Free Bed art show. I found out recently out that the mane of my art is Hyperrealism. It is a form of art were the picture is so realistic it looks like a photo. Someone told me this and when I looked it up on Google sure enough that's what it is.
Hyperrealism is a genre of painting and sculpture resembling a high-resolution photograph. Hyperrealism is considered an advancement of Photorealism by the methods used to create the resulting paintings or sculptures. The term is primarily applied to an independent art movement and art style in the United States and Europe that has developed since the early 1970s.
In other words you paint like it is a photo.

Mary Freebed Show
It has been awhile. I have been quit down and did not know if I would continue to compete. Well I turned the tied and entered 3 pictures into the Mary Freebed Show. It is a show for individuals that are in some way disabled. The people who sponsor the show are great and always make me feel both welcome and appreciated. They seem to enjoy my work and assure me I am accepted. I give thanks to God that there are still people like this in the world.

Legacy prize dates are: May 19 and 20 at the Grand Rapids Civic Theater. I almost missed the dead line for entry which was today. A friend of mine told me to call and make sure the information was in. When I did I found out that it was not in and probable lost in the mail as the VSA had recently moved. Although I was in an investment class all day I did get to the new office and filled in the papers. I must be distracted as I did the same thing with the Mary Freebed show. I did win a Guild Purchase Award. It gave me enough money to get the frames for this project. Still working on a wing and a prayer.
