Spring Buds

Well last week it looked like spring. The tree's were budding and flowers were popping. I was able to take some time to get a few photo's for painting later. It is now very cold so I hope we don't loose all the flowers. Well this is a 16" by 20" watercolor painting on canvas. I do enjoy the flowers. I did this painting without the pencil and used watercolor paints in a tub. Enjoy.

Young dancer

This is a 16" by 20" watercolor pencil painting on canvas. I am doing a little experimenting with back grounds at this point trying to get more movement in the painting. Don't know it its working but I think it makes the picture more abstract with reality based figure. I would appreciate any feedback you have for me.
Thank you for viewing.

I know it's been a while but I have been very busy with the warm weather. Now that it is turning cold again I will try to be more consistent.

Proud Native American

This little guy was so proud of himself at the Pow-wow. His bright colors were amazing. This is a 16" by 20" watercolor painting on canvas. The picture was taken about 2 years ago. I am experimenting with the back grounds. Hope you like it.

After much thought I have decided not to enter the Legacy Prize contest this year. I will not enter Art Prize as a result of this. It is just too much for me and I am taking a year off.

I will be in the Mary Free bed show this year and look forward to it.

Mary Free Bed Contest.

This is one of three pictures I will be entering into the Mary Free Bed art show. There is another one of Zack looking at some flowers with binoculars and then the one of the wizard of oz that was done for Art Prize 2009.
I am struggling right now with my art and I don't know why. I am definitely hitting a mental block of some kind. I have decided to sit out of the Legacy Prize contest this year as well as Art Prize. I just can't get up the energy to get out there. We will see how this goes as time passes.

Little Dancer

This is a 16" by 20" watercolor pencil painting on canvas. I found a bunch of my old pictures and decided to paint the pictures. This little girl looks so determined and reminds me of my grand daughter when she dances.

Today we have had 8 people from India who have visited the sight. Welcome and come back soon. We have also had 3 from the US, 1 from France and 1 from New Zeeland. I wish I could meet the people who happen upon this blog. That would be so cool. Hope you all come back!

Native American Dance.

This young woman was dancing at one of our local Pow-Wow's. She was so intense and into the dance that it was enjoyable to see her enthusiasm. I had started working on this about a year ago and then for some reason abandon it. I enjoyed coming back and finishing it.

I also wanted to note today that it never ceases to amaze me at the audience that this blog a tracks. This week I Had visitors from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Latvia, Slovenia, Australia, Spain, Pakistan, and Singapore. In addition to this week for the month the Countries of Russia, India, Netherlands, Canada and Egypt were also people who stopped by. I hope all countries enjoy this work. I always welcome visitors and hope that you will feel free to leave comments or join other followers of my blog.

Again thank you all for stopping by.

Sgt. Michael Keith Ingram Jr.

This is Sgt. Michael Keith Ingram Jr. He was killed in Afghanistan in 2010. I had painted a picture if Mike for ART Prize but had given it to his father as he was the only person I was in touch with at the time of the contest. During the last weeks of the competition I was befriended on Face Book by his mother who was divorced from his father. She was also having a very rough time in her life with the loss of her son. Shortly after that she lost both her sister and nephew who were shot on there porch at home. I can not imagine the grief this woman has touched.
I decided to paint this picture of her son and give it to her with my sympathies. Again, this is a 16" by 20" watercolor pencil painting on canvas.
