This is another picture being Displayed at the Bargain Hunter Outfitters a sporting good store in downtown Comstock Park. It is a 12" by 16"
painting in a standard 16" by 20" matte.
Because these watercolor paintings are on canvas they need a final spray fixative. They do not need to be put under glass when framed because of this technique. Hope you enjoy this picture as it was very fun to paint.

Hi Elaine,
ReplyDeleteWe hope you are feeling better. It was interesting reading about how you do your backgrounds, to make them look softer than the stuff in the foreground. Thank you! What kind of spray varnish do you use to seal your watercolors on canvas? Does it provide protection against UV rays? Michael might be getting a gift card for the art supply warehouse from a customer. I wrote 3 Fredrix watercolor stretched canvases on the shopping list. He tried the canvas board before. This is something new! Do you have any experience working with gouache on the canvas? Should we buy the acrylic gouache or the old fashioned kind that uses gum arabic and honey as the binder? Worried about cracking.
Thank you for blogging.
